Emotional eating is perfectly natural since it begins at the breast.

When you eat in connection with others, the love hormone oxytocin is released.

Not to mention, food is made of chemicals and those chemicals (nutrients, enzymes etc.) are the building blocks and co-enzymes for your “feel-good neurotransmitters”.

Since food is sooooooo highly intertwined with our feelings, we go to food when we can’t get the connection.

That’s why when you are in a funk or have low energy, …

Blissfully Binging

Willpower is not something I focus on at all when it comes to healthy eating and weight loss.

Why?

Because suppressed and repressed desires and emotions and a lack of pleasure and love are the cause of emotional eating in the first place.

Any attempt to exercise willpower only makes things worse, because willpower IS suppression.

My approach to emotional eating is to first stop taking on the identity of being an emotional eater and to then stop “trying” not to be one.

Instead meet yourself where …

Cottage Cheese Bowl

This is so easy! It's just dry curd cottage cheese, topped with cinnamon and ‘brown sugar’ erythritol (Swerve brand)

If you don’t like the texture of dry curd, top it with a splash of whipping cream, or half and half.

1/2 cup dry curd cottage cheese contains 13 grams protein.

This is the low carb way of making it. If you don’t mind the extra carbs, you can also add fresh berries or apple (grated or chunky)

Did you know that just by looking at a how your body distributes fat, we have a clue for finding the root cause of your weight gain or inability to lose weight? It's true.

Your body has very specific reasons for storing fat in the way that it does and it has a message for you about your health.

What do you see?
- love handles & muffin top = excess insulin
- big belly thin legs = insulin resistance + cortisol issues
- big butt/thighs/hips = low progesterone and/or high estrogen levels
- flabby arms + …

IS FOOD YOUR DEVIL?

grad photo
When I was a teenager, I used to literally joke saying food was the devil. But actually, I meant it because it felt like food was ruining my life.
One of my weekend rituals - before starting yet another diet on Monday - was to buy a bacon double cheeseburger and fries at Mc Donalds, plus a chocolate bar, chips and a Mc Cain cake from 7 Eleven for dessert.

All just so that I could get my 'fill' before Monday - after which I would starve myself and do aerobics (think back to the days o…

HOW TOO MUCH EXERCISE CAN MAKE YOU FAT

379809573_10159479216481723_3893418136852617457_n

"I don't understand why I can't lose weight when I eat like a bird and exercise like crazy!"

The reason why this happens is because the body is programmed to interpret eating less food and excessive exercise as stress, and this turns on 'famine programs'.

Never Underestimate the Impact of Stress!

Your Primal Animal Brain only knows two kinds of survival stress:

1. Acute Stress - the kind of stress that's happening right now and it's life or death eg: war or being chased by a tiger (in this case, you…

Eating too much is NOT the cause of being overweight.

Eating too much is NOT the cause of being overweight.

It’s a symptom of it. You are overweight because you are deficient in nutrition or emotionally weighed down in some way.

If you eat too much, it’s actually because you are starving.

You are starving for the deep nutrition that has been displaced by processed and refined foods and/ or you are depleted by stress.

Instead of your cells being filled with nourishment, they are hungry, craving and in protection mode (because of toxins that tag along)…

HOW YOUR EMOTIONAL WEIGHT MAKES YOU FAT

Never Underestimate the Impact of Stress

When you are chronically stressed, a certain hormone called cortisol becomes elevated. When cortisol is chronically elevated, it stimulates the fat storage hormone called insulin.

Elevated levels of insulin tell your body to store more energy as as fat. That's why stress can make your body turn more of what you eat into fat - even if you don't consume one extra calorie.

Excess cortisol also breaks down your muscle tissue making …
